Fishery owners and anglers love chub because they feed hard during the winter when many other species have slowed right down. We produce plenty of second year fish from 4 – 12 inches which can be stocked out directly into fisheries all year.
Growth
With space and abundant food chub grow very quickly. Our stillwater fishery customers report chub reaching 3-4 lbs in as little as 3 years. They are real opportunist feeders at all depths and throughout the year.

Breeding
We are frequently asked whether chub will breed in stillwaters and to date we have no evidence to suggest they do. They prefer to spawn in running water and so they will not receive the necessary stimuli in a lake.
